The famous Argentine footballer was joined by his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and their oldest son Thiago, who sported an Inter Miami shirt with his dad’s name on it.
Earlier this month, it was officially announced that Messi would be making his move to the United States. His debut was nothing short of spectacular, as the 36-year-old scored a dramatic last-minute goal. As the new captain of Inter Miami, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner continued to impress with two more goals and an assist in his second game.
Off the field, Messi seemed to be enjoying his time in the US as well. He and Antonela were seen touring a lavish house in Boca Raton, just an hour north of Miami, with big smiles on their faces.
Messi was given a tour of the house, which included a golf putting green where he even received a short demonstration from someone holding a golf club. Messi and Antonela, who got married in 2017, have three children – Thiago (10), Mateo (seven), and Ciro (five). This wouldn’t be their first property in South Florida as they already own a luxurious $9 million apartment with a view of Sunny Isle Beach and Miami. Reports suggest that the World Cup champion purchased the apartment at the Porsche Design Tower back in 2019. The 60-story tower is located between Bal Harbour and Aventura, just 25 minutes away from Inter Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium.
The apartment includes its own exclusive dining area, an outdoor seating space overlooking the ocean, a movie theater, and gaming simulators for golf and racing.
Messi is set to make around $50-60 million per season following his recent signing of a two-and-a-half-year deal with Inter Miami.
Accompanying the Argentina star to South Beach are former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
Luis Suarez recently shared that he and Messi still have aspirations of retiring together, despite negotiations between his current club, Gremio, and Inter Miami falling through.
The Major League Soccer team had initially hoped to bring Suarez back together with Messi and the rest of the team. However, negotiations for the deal have now fallen through.
Suarez shared in an interview with a Uruguayan TV program called Punto Penal that, “With Messi, we have always dreamed of retiring together. It was something we had planned back when we were at Barcelona. But then, I went to Atletico Madrid and he went to Paris Saint-Germain.”
“We used to talk about going to the United States after our time at Barcelona, but it never materialized. Now that he has made the move, we can see he is happy there. Hopefully, the possibility of us reuniting in the U.S. will come about at some point.”
